Underathens is an independent, self-organized alternative sound and art space. In the 3 years of its operation it has incubated several bands, hosted several live events and acted as a platform for artists of any kind to either practice or perform.
We have created a space where ideas could merge and illuminate; a place for knowledge-sharing and celebration of contemporary culture and artistic practices.
Art has the ability to travel through time and transcend all mortals. It can educate and be a resistance platform for future generations against all devious human behaviors.
Unfortunately the Covid 19 pandemic has forced us to suspend our activities indefinitely, and cancel upcoming gigs and events which were our primary and almost exclusive source of revenue. Despite the difficulties, we feel the need to keep the space alive and ready to return to its normal operation whenever that is considered safe and possible.
Here is where we need your help.
More specifically, we need 1650 euros to cover the space’s maintenance expenses until January 2021. Of course, that is only part of the money we need to raise and we are already seeking out other ways that might help us keep this space vibrantly alive.
In order for this journey to begin two things are necessary: People and Space.
We kindly ask all the musicians and artists who found a place to be in underathens and all the people who showed up and showed us support with love to contribute to our crowdfunding campaign on Firefund.
