All cases of brutality known from other European borders have likewise become a reality on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border. Sienos Grupė supports People on the Move in this border area. In order to be able to do our work as a group, we are in urgent need of a functional car.
Alle Arten von Brutalität, die von anderen europäischen Grenzen bekannt sind, sind auch an der litauisch-belarussischen Grenze Realität geworden. Sienos Grupė unterstütz People on the Move in diesem Grenzgebiet. Für unsere Arbeit brauchen wir dringend ein funktionstüchtiges Auto.
Žiauraus elgesio atvejai, žinomi iš kitų Europos šalių pasienių, tapo realybe ir tarp Lietuvos bei Baltarusijos. "Sienos Grupė" rūpinasi migruojančiais žmonėmis šioje pasienio teritorijoje. Tam, kad galėtume dirbti savo darbą, mums skubiai reikia automobilio.
Wszystkie przypadki brutalności znane z innych granic europejskich stały się również rzeczywistością na pograniczu litewsko-białoruskim. Sienos Grupė wspiera osoby uchodźcze na tym obszarze. Abyśmy mogli wykonywać naszą pracę, pilnie potrzebujemy sprawnego samochodu.
Situation at the Lithuanian-Belarusian border
The conditions at the external EU border between Lithuania and Belarus are as brutal as in other European border contexts: This August, Lithuania completed the four-meter-high, 550-kilometer-long border fence. This means, People on the Move have to cross icy rivers, walk for hours through forests, and find their ways in swampy areas. People are arriving exhausted, hungry, soaked, and frozen in Lithuania.
Beatings and maltreatment by border guards from both countries are part of everyday life. Belarusian border guards brutally force people to cross the border. At the same time, Lithuanian border guards treat People on the Move extremely violent.
Recently, four people had to have body parts amputated because of the cold. Violence, misery and death have become part of daily life at the Lithuanian-Belarusian border.
Situation an der belarussisch-litauischen Grenze
Die Bedingungen an der EU-Aussengrenze zwischen Litauen und Belasus sind ähnlich brutal wie in anderen europäischen Grenzregionen: Diesen August hat Litauen den vier Meter hohen und 550 Kilometer langen Grenzzaun fertiggestellt. People on the Move müssen eisige Flüsse durchqueren, stundenlang durch Wälder laufen, sich in Sumpfgebieten zurechtfinden. Die Menschen kommen erschöpft, hungrig, durchnässt und durchgefroren in Litauen an.
Schläge von Grenzbeamt*innen beider Länder sind Alltag. Belarussische Grenzbeamt*innen zwingen die Menschen teilweise gewaltsam dazu, die Grenze zu überwinden. Litauische Beamt*innen gehen ebenfalls brutal gegen People on the Move vor.
Mehreren Menschen mussten Körperteile amputiert werden. Gewalt, Elend und Tod sind auch an der belarussisch-litauischen Grenze zum Alltag geworden.
Situacija Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos pasienyje
Sąlygos prie išorinės Europos Sąjungos sienos tarp Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos yra tokios pat žiaurios, kaip ir daugelyje kitų Europos pasienio vietų. Šių metų rugpjūčio mėnesį Lietuva baigė statyti keturių metrų aukščio 550 km ilgio pasienio tvorą. Tai reiškia, kad migruojantys žmonės turi kirsti ledines upes, valandų valandas eiti per miškus ir pelkėtas vietoves. Į Lietuvą žmonės atvyksta išsekę, alkani, permirkę ir sušalę.
Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos pasieniečių fizinis smurtas prieš migruojančius žmones tapo kasdienybe. Baltarusijos pasieniečiai verčia migruojančius žmones kirsti sieną, o Lietuvos pasieniečiai juos išstuma atgal, girdime liudijimus apie smurta abejose sienos pusėse.
Neseniai keturiems migruojantiems žmonėms dėl šalčio teko amputuoti kūno dalis. Yra daug pranešimų apie dingusius be žinios asmenis.
Smurtas, kančia ir mirtis tapo Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos pasienio kasdienybe.
Sytuacja na granicy litewsko-białoruskiej
Tak samo jak na innych zewnętrznych granicach UE, polityka na granicy litewsko-białoruskiej jest bardzo brutalna: w sierpniu tego roku na granicy została ukończona budowa wysokiego na 4m i długiego na 550 km muru granicznego. W konsekwencji osoby w drodze zmuszone są do przekraczania lodowatych rzek, spędzać wiele dni w lesie szukając drogi, często na nieznanych bagnistych terenach. Do Litwy docierają wyczerpani, głodni, przemoczeni i zmarznięci.
Bicie, maltretowanie i zastraszanie osób przez strażników granicznych zarówno z Białorusi jak i Litwy jest codziennością. Strażnicy z Białorusi często w sposób przemocowy zmuszają osoby do przekroczenia granicy. Służby po stronie litewskiej podchodzą do osób w sposób wyjątkowo brutalny.
W ostatnim czasu, z powodu wyziębienia trzeba było dokonać amputacji kończyn czterem osobom.
Przemoc, nędza i śmierć stały się częścią codziennego życia na granicy litewsko-białoruskiej.
Our Work
Sienos Grupė supports People on the Move in the forests with clothes, food, medicine etc. People in the forests inform us about their location through our emergency number. Once a location has reached us, we prepare the needed material in backpacks and take it into the forest by car. On foot, we start the search for the people and bring them what they have asked for: for example hot tea and soup, thermal underwear and good shoes, painkillers etc.
In addition to our activities in the Lithuanian forests, we also support refugees or migrants after their arrival in Lithuania. We continuously visit people in the so-called detention camps - prison-like camps where people are placed on arrival. We organise legal accompaniment, assist in finding housing, jobs, etc. Documentation, public relations and other political activities are also part of our work.
Unsere Arbeit
Die Sienos Grupè unterstütz People on the Move in den Wäldern mit Kleidung, Lebensmittel, Medikamenten etc. Über unser Alarmtelefon informieren uns die Menschen im Wald über ihren Standort. Wir packen daraufhin Rucksäcke mit dem benötigten Material und fahren mit dem Auto in den Wald. Zu Fuss machen wir uns auf die Suche nach den Menschen und bringen ihnen, was sie brauchen: zB. heisser Tee und Suppe, Thermounterwäsche und gute Schuhe, Schmerzmittel etc.
Nebst unseren Aktivitäten in den litauischen Wäldern unterstützen wir auch geflüchtete oder migrierte Menschen, wenn sie in Litauen angekommen sind. Wir besuchen Menschen in den sog. Detention-Camps – gefängnisähnliche Lager, in denen Menschen nach ihrer Ankunft untergebracht werden. Wir organisieren juristische Begleitung, unterstützen bei Wohnungs- und Arbeitssuche etc. Dokumentation, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und weitere politische Aktivitäten sind ebenso Teil unserer Arbeit.
Mūsų darbas
"Sienos grupė" remia miškuose migruojančius žmones drabužiais, maistu, vaistais ir kt. Apie savo buvimo vietą miške migruojantys žmonės mus informuoja skambinami ar rašydami mūsų skubios pagalbos numeriu. Kai tiksliai žinome, kur jie yra, paruošiame kuprines su reikiamais daiktais ir automobiliu nuvežame jas į mišką. Žmonių ieškome pėsčiomis ir atnešame jiems tai, ko prašė: pavyzdžiui, karštos arbatos ir sriubos, šiltų apatinių drabužių ir gerų batų, vaistų nuo skausmo ir panašiai.
Be veiklos Lietuvos miškuose, taip pat padedame pabėgėliams ar migrantams atvykus į Lietuvą. Nuolat lankome žmones vadinamosiose sulaikymo stovyklose - į kalėjimą panašiose stovyklose, į kurias kai kurie migruojantys žmonės patenka atvykę į Lietuvą. Organizuojame teisinį palyėjimą, padedame susirasti būstą, darbą ir t.t. Dokumentavimas, viešieji ryšiai ir politinis aktyvizmas taip pat yra mūsų darbo dalis.
Nasza praca
Sienos Grupė wspiera osoby w drodze, które są w lasach dostarczając im ubrania, żywność, lekarstwa itp. Osoby w lasach informują nas o swojej lokalizacji za pomocą naszego numeru alarmowego. Po otrzymaniu takiej informacji, pakujemy rzeczy potrzebne danej grupie do plecaków i zawozimy je samochodem do lasu. Następnie pieszo, szukamy osób i przynosimy to o co prosili - przykładowo gorącą herbatę i zupę, bieliznę termiczną, dobre buty czy środki przeciwbólowe. .
Oprócz działań w litewskich lasach wspieramy również uchodźców lub migrantów po ich przybyciu do Litwy. Stale odwiedzamy osoby przebywające w tzw. obozach detencyjnych – obozach o charakterze więziennym, w których umieszcza się osoby w drodze. Organizujemy pomoc prawną, pomagamy w znalezieniu mieszkania, pracy itp. Częścią naszej pracy jest również dokumentacja sytuacji na granicy, PR i inne działania polityczne.
Why we are in urgent need of a car
With the heavy snowfall of the last days, the conditions for People on the Move and also for activists are becoming more difficult.
For the actions in the forests near the border, we activists are dependent on a car adapted to the local weather and terrain. The current vehicle is in a technically very bad condition and is close to stop functioning all together. A newer, though used car, which meets the necessary requirements, costs 6'000€.
Warum wir dringend ein Auto brauchen
Mit dem starken Schneefall der letzten Tage werden die Bedingungen für Menschen auf der Flucht und auch für Aktivist*innen schwieriger.
Für die Einsätze in den grenznahen Wäldern sind wir Aktivist*innen auf ein an Wetter und Gelände angepasstes Auto angewiesen. Das vorhandene Fahrzeug ist in einem technisch schlechten Zustand und kann nicht weiterverwendet werden. Ein neues gebrauchtes Auto, welches den Anforderungen entspricht, kostet 6'000€.
Kodėl mums skubiai reikia automobilio
Pastarosiomis dienomis gausiai sningant migruojančių žmonių, o taip pat ir mūsų aktyvistų, norinčių jiems pagelbėti, sąlygos tampa vis sudėtingesnės.
Veikti pasienio miškuose, mums, aktyvistams, labai reikia oro sąlygoms ir vietovei pritaikyto automobilio. Dabartinis mūsų automobilis yra techniškai labai prastos būklės ir beveik nebeveikia. Naujesnis, nors ir naudotas automobilis, atitinkantis būtinus reikalavimus, kainuoja 6 000 €.
Dlaczego pilnie potrzebujemy samochodu
Wraz z obfitymi opadami śniegu w ostatnich dniach warunki dla osób w drodze, a także dla aktywistów, stają się coraz trudniejsze.
Do działań w lasach przygranicznych my, działacze, jesteśmy zdani na samochód dostosowany do lokalnej pogody i terenu. Nowszy, ale używany samochód, spełniający potrzebne wymagania, kosztuje 6000 €.
