Help our friend Ahmed cover the urgent, life-saving chemotherapy costs for his mother.
To many of us in the anti-racist and internationalist movement in Athens, Greece, Ahmed is a friend and a comrade.
We first met Ahmed in a migrant prison-camp near Athens, where he actively participated in and helped us organize assemblies, forging connections with fellow migrants. Over the last two years, he has been a constant presence in our struggles, standing by our side at events and actively supporting self-organized spaces across the city.
Now, our friend urgently needs our solidarity.
Since arriving in Greece, Ahmed has worked multiple jobs, driven by a single necessity: providing crucial support to his family in Syria. Tragically, his mother is currently battling cancer. Her survival depends on life-saving chemotherapy, which comes with crushing weekly costs.
Below is a picture of Ahmed's mother:
To meet these massive medical bills, Ahmed recently made the difficult decision to leave his networks in Greece and move to the Netherlands, hoping to find a job with a better income. He currently finds himself in a precarious transitional period where he has not yet secured work or received a paycheck. Yet, he remains obliged to send huge sums of money home every single week.
We are reaching out to the broader anti-racist and internationalist community worldwide. Ahmed has organized with us, stood by us, and contributed so much to our movements. It is our turn to have his back.
Please contribute what you can to help Ahmed and his family. Solidarity is our greatest weapon—let’s use it to ensure his mother gets the care she needs.
